Rick Lane is a British born, ten year resident of Marshfield, Massachusetts. In 2001 he started Old England Paint and Refinishing, a South Shore based, full service painting and architectural wood refinishing company.

I have been working on exotic hardwoods in all elements for the past twenty years. Twelve years in the yachting industry, sanding and varnishing beautifully carved teak capping rails and detailed cabinetry aboard the 158 ft. Motor Yacht Patagonia, led to an appreciation for the natural beauty of wood and the need for quality products to offer a beautiful finish and superior protection from wear and the elements, whether it's salt water, high traffic, or UV rays.

Since the first days of Old England Paint and Refinishing I have brought forward the quality control and techniques learned from the yachting industry and now apply then fully to what is the favorite part of my job - architectural wood refinishing. Whether it's vaulted cedar ceilings, entry or garage doors, hand-carved oak newell posts and rails, mahogany decks, outdoor furniture, pressure-treated swing sets, or natural wood siding or shingles, Sikkens has the product and I have the ability to provide a professional application and maintenance service using only the most durable and appropriate product for the job in question.
